Ashville, Alabama - Confederate Memorial Service 11:00 AM - April 26
A Confederate Memorial Day Service will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 11 AM on the Courthouse lawn in front of the Confederate Soldiers Monument. The Ashville Chapter 1488, United Daughters of the Confederacy and St. Clair Camp 308, Ashville, Alabama are hosting the event. Guest speaker will be Rev. Mark Liddle. A wreath will be laid at the Confederate Soldiers Monument, reenactors will fire a 21 Musket salute and a bugler will play taps. Music for the event will be a bagpiper playing hymns.After the service there will be a bring your sack lunch behind the John W. Inzer Museum. Following lunch those in attendance will proceed to the Ashville Cemetery where another Memorial Service will be held. Another 21 Musket salute will be rendered and Confederate Battle Flags will be placed on the 42 graves of Confederate Veterans buried there. Submitted by,
